Arquibio
La Facultad de Geología acogió la jornada técnica sobre Arquitectura bioclimática y eficiencia energética, "Arquibio"organizada por el Cluster de Energía, Medioambiente y Cambio Climático (CEMACC). El encuentro trata de impulsar la formación y el debate acerca de mejoras técnicas que puedan redundar en una mayor protección del medio ambiente y en la generalización del uso de materiales y energías renovables.

Samuel Furfari
Samuel Furfari, consultant of the General Management of Energy of the European Committee, attended the 4th day of the "I Meetings between Companies and Research Groups" in which he gave an interesting conference whose title was "Las perspectivas energéticas de la UE y sus retos tecnológicos asociados" (The energetic perspectives of the EU and its associated technological challenges).

Seismic studies
During the month of April, studies about seismic marine were carried out in different locations of the Asturian coast. Its aim, determining the characteristics of the Oceanic floor, is framed in the development of the Offshore Experimental Station, which the University is promoting in order to develop the research of marine energetic resources.

"Face to Face" meetings
A the end of each working day of the "Meetings between Companies- Research Groups" bilateral gatherings among "companies-researchers" took place, establishing contacts which we hope will result in the execution of agreements to participate in joint proposals of R&D&I.

I Meetings between Companies- Research Groups
During four days on March and April a cycle of meetings between Companies and Research groups were carried out in the Campuses of Oviedo, Gijón and Mieres, not only from the University but from the CSIC, with the purpose of showing their activities and lines of work in the R& D& I field and to encourage the creation of AEGI (Strategic Association of Research Groups)

Campus of El Cristo
The Campus is located in the upper part of the City, between the water tanks of El Cristo and the current University Central Hospital of Asturias. This campus includes degrees on law, social, health and sciences related disciplines. It also hosts several departments and the Scientific-Technical Services.

Study Hall of the Library
Thousands of students have used these wooden tables in the history of the University of Oviedo. The Central Library, placed in the Historic Building, keeps the identity of this institution.
